Spoiler:
Résumé par Joerg B:
The Dorastor map known (and shown in the Guide) is at best half-true, as there is a whole different, entirely chaotic portion of Dorastor hiding between the northern slopes of the mountains and the southern slopes, about the same size again than the area shown on the map.

This doesn't make the map in the Guide inaccurate in any way, except for suggesting a closed topology along that ridge-line. This part of Dorastor has become a rip in Arachne Solara's web (thank you, Gbaji), and the "area" in between won't be mappable except for the momentary experience.
+
Sandy revealed it is a very large area between the slopes visible from Nangtali Plateau and those visible from Karia. And that is a region which is in flux, or only of temporary reality, or whatever. No two passages across Kartolin Pass cross the same type of territory. Unless it's a trap.

So the route across Kartolin Pass is significantly longer and more dangerous than indicated in the maps both in RQ3 Dorastor:Land of Doom and in the Guide.

Sinon, nouveau scénario ultra basique sur The Jonstown Compendium: Jorthan's Rescue Redux
When a Lunar noblewoman stumbles into your village and asks for your help, saying that her husband has been kidnapped by trolls, what do you do? This is the set-up for Jorthan’s Rescue Redux, an update of Jorthan’s Rescue, the classic RuneQuest mini-scenario by Stephen R. Marsh and John Sapienza Jr. which originally appeared in White Dwarf #19 in 1980 (& Best of White Dwarf Scenario in 1980). This new version has been rewritten for use with Chaosium. Inc.’s RuneQuest: Roleplaying in Glorantha and relocated to Sartar, whilst retaining the original’s flexibility to be set anywhere where troll brigands might be found. It is a simple, straightforward adventure suitable to be played by characters with a few adventures under their belts.

It includes all new artwork and maps and nineteen NPCs, including two who could become Player Characters.

https://basicroleplaying.org/topic/1159 ... -guide-be/
I've written the cults of Pavis, Fintnail, and Zola Fel for RQG. But they will appear in the Pavis & Big Rubble materials, where they belong. I also have written cults of the Bloody Tusk, Daruda, Seseine, Glamour, Geo, loads of material on the Draconic religion, and the beginnings of an Invisible God chapter. But those will all appear in other books.

This book covers Dragon Pass, Kethaela, Prax, and Peloria in great detail. From here you can work out the contours of much of the rest of Glorantha. Other than gods of the East Isles, Godunya, Path of Immanent Mastery, and Tskanth, I believe that every cult that was in the RQ3 Gods of Glorantha book is here. Long form. Like Cults of Prax or Cults of Terror.

All the main cults in Esrolia are covered here - Ernalda, Asrelia, Esrola, Choralinthor, Engizi, Babeester Gor, Maran Gor, Argan Argar, Barntar, Orlanth, the Lightbringers, Lodril, etc. There's a few purely local deities like Vogarth that will get presented in a regional supplement, but less than 5% of the population are initiated into all these minor cults collectively.

Plus so much more - Asrelia, Barntar, Caladra & Aurelion, Choralinthor, Danfive Xaron, Dayzatar, Deezola, Hon-eel, Oslira, Polaris, Shargash, Yara Aranis, Ygg, and so much more.

There was a draft version of the books available at Gen Con 2019, since then there's been a lot more work done on them. If you were at Dragonmeet or at one of the London meetups, you could read through the latest drafts. The Table of Contents are not a good guide to the number of cults as some are contained within others:

Image
Image

In summary, it covers the contours of the monomyth and the new Lunar religion. Plus a number of local cults of interest to the core lands of Kethaela, Prax, Dragon Pass, and Maniria.

The two perspectives it does not cover is Malkioni humanism (which really needed its own book), and the draconic religion (and its influences), plus purely local cults outside of the core lands.

Ompalam, Lamsabi, and Selarn are local cults outside of the core homelands. I have an Ompalam cult writeup already though.
+
Dave Cake:
I have the draft that was released at Gencon last year:
It’s terrific, huge and rich. It has everything that was done for previous editions - like Cults of Prax, Cults of Terror, Troll Gods, a fully fleshed Earth Pantheon, a fully fleshed out Solar Pantheon, a mass of great Lunar material that is entirely new and opens up the Lunars for play as never before, all in one, all with new gods we haven’t seen before in the mix.
+
Rick Meints:
Q: I wonder if at this point we will ever see any of those pantheons be fleshed out like they deserve to be... it really feels like the guys at chaosium are only interested in Orlanthi and the areas around them at this point.

A: The current Gods of Glorantha manuscript is over 600 pages in length. The work done thus far required a lot of author time, and many of the cults in this manuscript already had a lot of their info already fleshed out (although it did have to be updated and edited, sometimes heavily). It is quite easy to imagine that the rest of the cults in Glorantha would require at least as big of a manuscript, and many of them have far less written about them. There is a very distinct tradeoff between getting a lot of Gloranthan Cults this year, or getting every Gloranthan cult two or three years from now. We at the Chaosium have decided to provide a large number of cults based on what most players desire the most. Holding up the publication of a cult from Dragon Pass or Prax for a few years so people can also get the Cult of (insert deity rarely worshipped in some far flung corner of the lozenge) at the same time would disappoint far more people. The goal of "complete" would, quite bluntly, just sacrifice every ounce of "timeliness".

As for what we are interested in publishing, that is another matter. There are two main factors at work here, as we have stated previously, but are worth repeating:

1. WRITING CAPACITY: Jeff and Jason are our main in house writers for RuneQuest, and Jason spends the majority of his time as the line editor. All the rest of the writing comes from freelance authors. Historically, Glorantha has always struggled to attract authors willing and capable of writing for it. That was true in 1980, 1990, 2000, 2010, and is also true today. Wishing for a Book on X or Y doesn't mean anyone is going to step up and want to write it. That is probably doubly true for the less documented areas of Glorantha.

2. ECONOMICS: We are very willing to publish any RuneQuest material that will sell well enough to pay the bills. Some topics though are far from mainstream interests. Yes, we have no doubt that there are fans out there who long to buy a book on X or Y, but many of those topics won't sell well enough for Chaosium to invest the resources (mainly money) for a full blown supplement. In many respects, that's what the Jonstown Compendium was created to help alleviate. Chaosium needs to produce material that will sell X thousand copies, not X hundred copies.

2 livres.
L'équivalent du The Grand Grimoire of Cthulhu Mythos Magic pour l'Appel.

Cults of Glorantha est vraiment énorme.

https://andrewloganmontgomery.blogspot. ... -arms.html
notamment dans Orlanth, King of the Gods (par Andrey Fetisov) pour le prochain Cults of Glorantha:

Image

Pour rappel, Jeff:
Orlanth has many arms to visually represent the breadth of his power. He is Adventurous, he is Thunderous (four arms). He has taken weapons from all the other elements (four arms). He is Adventurous, Thunderous, and Rex (five or six arms). He is Movement and Change and can add arms when needed.
Kalin Kadiev:
As the artist for one of those depictions of Orlanth used as examples in this post (and the art director for the other one), I'd like to add an interesting anecdote - It's not just that Orlanthi in those pieces has 4 arms. It's that he has *only* 4 arms. Because In both cases I wanted him to have even more, and Jeff would have probably thrown multiple other heads on top as well, for good measure. That didn't happen mostly due to simple reasons of visual clutter, legibility and other boring art stuff that makes art not be absolutely bugnuts insane.

Personally, I just wish I had done even more gods as absurd amalgamations of limbs and symbols. Maybe next time.

Oh and let me say a few words about Andrey's piece. First off, it's probably my favourite thing of his that he's done for Glorantha (speaking as a fan and genuinely not being affected by bias here).

Secondly, no, it doesn't really look Indian because it was not supposed to look Indian. I sent Andrey a frankly excessive amount of reference images for this piece. Both for details like the shield, helmet, sword etc, as well as, more importantly, for style.

Of the 21 pieces of reference that I sent to Andrey, not a single one is an Indian or Tibetan painting. Not one. There's a lot of my own art, which I will concede is inspired by those styles, but that was mostly for reference of the symbols to include, not the style. At some point in brainstorming this, Orlanth actually had 6 arms. Then 5. Then I dropped the 5 idea, because that would just look too disjointed to function as an art piece.

See, at this point there was no real visual style selected for the Storm Pantheon's depiction in the Gods book. Earth had one, but Storm...eh. So this piece needed to not just be a good and eye-catching depiction of Orlanth (which I think it succeeds at with flying colors), but also it had to set the tone for the rest of the pieces, also done by Andrey.

Nouveau scénario RQG sur the Jonstown Compendium:
A pestilence threatens the crop at Cliffheath.
It festers at the very edge of Sun County and the Sandheart Militia are sent to investigate.
Their orders are simple – purge the area of disease.
But what caused it and where is the source? The clock is ticking.
Can the militia solve the mystery before the situation spirals out of control?

The Corn Dolls is an investigation-based adventure set in the district of Sandheart (detailed in Tales of the Sun County Militia – Sandheart Volume 1).
It is a non-linear adventure requiring the players to follow leads and react to events.
At 45 pages it includes ten handouts/stead maps, a map of Cliffheath, information on each of five farmsteads, key NPC stats and a timeline of events.
It is expected to take between two and five sessions to complete.

In honor of our friend and game developer Clint Staples, we are re-running all of his terrific #Runequest Thursday posts from the start!
In this initial one he adapts a #DnD cantrip into a "Minor Thaumaturgy" spell for #RQ.

Old Jack is the colloquial name given by locals to a large and dangerous jackobear that wanders the River of Cradles region from Sea to Darkness seasons, before heading into the eastern wastes of Vulture Country for the rest of the year.
